Main, across the street, where the owner has indicated plans for two new businesses and two upstairs apartments; that property had not submitted a city funding application tied to the Project Restore grants at the time of the meeting. Staff said some owners have pursued private restoration funds and that the city’s facade/infrastructure grants have been quickly allocated and are beginning to be spent.
Commissioners asked about timing, scope and whether the same owner’s multiple properties complicate delivery; staff said the size of the portfolio and the number of parcels can lengthen timelines and that the city is balancing grant disbursement and permitting to keep projects moving.
