Kingston board approves probation extension and medical‑exam directive, adopts updated policies and accepts donations

The Kingston City School District Board of Education voted March 5 to approve two resolutions arising from executive session: a probation extension agreement and a medical‑examination directive involving an employee identified in the meeting as employee number 4225.

In the first action, the board authorized its president and the superintendent to execute a probation extension agreement for employee number 4225 as presented at the meeting. The board then voted to authorize the superintendent to direct that same employee to undergo a comprehensive medical examination and evaluation by the school physician, including psychiatric examinations or evaluations as recommended by the school physician and in accordance with Section 913 of the Education Law. The board also directed the employee to submit any medical records from the previous two years to the designated physicians prior to the examinations. On the consent agenda, trustees approved routine items and accepted donations to several schools: Ernest Meyer Elementary School received two PTA donations totaling $1,162.99; Robert Graves Elementary School received $400 from the Stewart Foundation; JFK Elementary School received $250 from the Stewart Foundation; Harry L. Edson Elementary School received a $25 Walmart gift card from the school store; and Lake North received a picnic table valued at $50. The consent agenda passed by voice vote.
