Council green-lights processing of Broadstone Village applications, directs staff on financing, density and affordable housing

The San Luis Obispo City Council voted 4-1 on April 1 to direct staff to proceed with processing the Broadstone Village project applications, which seek a general-plan amendment, rezoning and annexation to allow a proposed mixed residential development and a new LOVR (Los Osos Valley Road) bypass. Council also asked staff to study alternatives for the Bob Jones Trail alignment, require detailed fiscal analysis for infrastructure costs and consider affordable housing requirements if the project moves forward.

Hannah Hahn, an associate planner in the Community Development Department, told council the proposal, called Broadstone Village, would rezone two sites within city limits to R4 and annex a 44-acre Hayashi parcel in the county to build a bypass and trail extension.
