Senate committee adopts amendment to SB 49, sends bill to floor

The Senate Committee on Housing and Development on April 2, 2025 adopted the -2 amendment to Senate Bill 49 and moved the bill to the full Senate with a "do pass" recommendation.

The amendment and the motion to move the bill were offered by Vice Chair Anderson and adopted without recorded objection. After brief remarks, the clerk called the roll; Senators Robins, Matt and Patterson recorded "aye." The motion passed.

SB 49, as summarized to the committee, would increase the membership of the Building Code Structures Board within DCBS from nine to eleven members and would specify additional occupations that must be represented on the board. "I really appreciate everyone's commitment to continue to work in the interim to figure out how we can make sure that...we're all working together to streamline housing production," Chair Pham said.
