Panel member presents mock-up for an OSAP public website to centralize trail and safety information

Panel member Steven Torres presented a mock-up of a proposed Open Space Advisory Panel web page intended to help users find trail maps, safety and climate guidance, partner resources and reporting options.
Torres said the draft landing page would include the panel’s mission and vision, basic visitor safety guidance (what to bring and local climate expectations), an integrated trail map showing distances, and a partners list that links to local groups such as Franklin Mountains State Park, Frontier Land Alliance and others. He said the goal is a single, easy-to-navigate page with links to apps, local meetup groups and official reporting channels for emergencies or maintenance issues.
Torres said he will work with city web staff to finalize wording and layout. He asked the panel to send edits by email so updates can be made without triggering quorum rules. The chair and other panel members encouraged Torres to proceed and requested he share the draft with staff and panel members for comment before publishing.
Parks and Recreation staff said the site will ultimately match the city’s web design and that staff will help with web-publishing options and links to official reporting procedures. No formal action was taken; Torres said he will continue to coordinate with city web staff and circulate the mock-up to the panel for feedback outside of a meeting.
