Chairman Evans told Slash that committee expectations include regular communication from council appointees about issues facing IndyGo and asked that appointees inform the committee about upcoming board meetings and share notes from those meetings. “One of the expectations I have as the chair of the committee is that our appointees will communicate with this committee on issues that are facing IndyGo,” Chairman Evans said.
Councillor Gibson moved the proposal to send the nomination forward with a do-pass recommendation. The motion was seconded (the transcript does not identify the second by name) and approved by voice vote; no opposition was recorded in the committee discussion captured in the transcript.
In response to a question about her qualifications, Slash said she has served as chairwoman of the Indiana Civil Rights Commission since 2017 and has led or served on other local boards, including the Indianapolis Urban League and several alumni and private-school boards. She told the committee she aims to bring stakeholder coordination and attention to community needs as a board member.
