Mayor Daniella Levine Cava introduced Miller as the mayor’s nominee and highlighted her transportation career at the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) going back to 1991, including service as District 6 secretary where she managed planning, design, construction, maintenance and operation of state highways in Miami-Dade and Monroe counties.
Miller told commissioners she looks forward to starting and described herself as a proponent of systems that move people and goods. Commissioners praised interim director Josiel Ferrer Diaz for steady management during the transition and commended Miller for her experience at FDOT and on regional transportation bodies.
