At a meeting of Loudon City officials, members approved Application 158, a site plan review for SRM Concrete proposed by Hollingshead Materials LLC at 6289 Corporate Park Drive.
The preliminary plans call for renovation of an existing building to house the batch plant operations, internal drives to access the batch plant, on‑site material storage bins for sand and gravel, and a concrete containment area nearer the plant. Site work described during the meeting includes redoing the detention pond, construction of a retaining wall, and a four‑chamber truck wash system to capture wash water and settle out solids. Access to the site will be from both Monterey and Corporate Park Drive, with employee parking shown in front of the building and concrete mixers staged behind the building overnight.
Commission staff noted the location’s history as an earlier concrete batch plant; a later owner had repurposed part of the property for a CNC shop. The applicant said the plan retains the existing building for office/dispatch use while placing plant equipment down the yard side of the site and laying out drive and material storage areas adjacent to the detention facilities.
Commissioner Dennis Brennan asked questions during the review about site configuration and traffic patterns. A motion to approve the site plan carried after a motion and a second; the meeting record shows the motion passed.
The approval covers the site plan review only; permits, inspections and any required operating permits were not detailed in the discussion and were not specified in the meeting record.
