Commission approves sports-complex insurance reimbursement, awards lake-mowing contract and renews John Deere tractor lease

Finance Director Mark presented a request to reimburse $7,007.94 from sales-tax funds for the sports complex insurance property premium covering park irrigation, electrical, storage building, and property in the open. The commission approved the invoice payment by motion; the vote was recorded as 3–0 in favor.
Road and Bridge Superintendent Joe Snyder presented lake mowing proposals. Two firms submitted quotes: Chowfent Lawn Care of Lancaster quoted $1,500 per mowing session; Bridal Hanshaw of Cummings quoted $500 per mowing session (every two weeks, invoiced monthly, effectively $1,000 per month). The board accepted the low bid from Bridal Hanshaw by motion; the motion passed 3–0 and county staff will execute the contract paperwork.
Snyder also requested approval of a John Deere 6155 tractor lease to support county mowing operations. The lease rate is $20.72 per hour with a guaranteed 350 hours and an expected total invoiced on delivery of $7,252; additional invoices may be required for hours above 350 or for damages. The commission approved the lease by motion; the vote was 3–0.
Each of these items passed on unanimous votes recorded as “Aye. Aye. Aye.” in the transcript. Staff will handle contract execution and invoicing with the vendors and banks noted in the presentations.
