Lazar chamber band performs; Montville recognizes ShopRite stars and awards donation to Class of 2025

Lazar directors Ned Corlissian and Thomas Sansone introduced the chamber group, describing it as an advanced ensemble that rehearses before school and plays more demanding repertoire. The band performed a setting of “Amazing Grace” arranged by Frank T. Kelly.
Later in the meeting, Ken Nadzik introduced the ShopRite Stars for the third marking period of the 2024–25 school year. Teachers nominated students across five categories and an administrative committee selected the winners. Sunrise ShopRite donated $1,000 to the Class of 2025 in connection with the recognition program.
The academic winner was Hebah Imran, recognized for a rigorous course load and multiple academic honors; the athletic winner was Alexa Silero, highlighted for her wrestling accomplishments; the arts winner was Sabrina Spada, honored for leadership in orchestra; the community-service winner was Trevor Pasqual; and the leadership award went to Gia Patel. The introductions included descriptions of each student’s activities and achievements as provided by the presenter; the students were congratulated by the board.
Board members and administrators praised the performing students and recognized the contributions of teachers and the music program, as well as the student achievements across academics, athletics, arts, community service and leadership.
