The West Sacramento Parks, Recreation and Intergenerational Services Commission recorded two formal actions at its April 1 meeting.
1) Approval of minutes: The commission approved the minutes of its Feb. 4, 2025 meeting. Motion to approve was made by Commissioner Schatzel and seconded by Commissioner Archuleta; the body approved the motion by voice vote.
2) Memorial bench and tree dedication at Southport Gateway Park (in memory of Cecilia Wilson): The commission approved the parks department's memorial application. Parks and Recreation Business Manager Erin Ayala presented the application; memorial supporters Tracy Kelch and Bethany Gale spoke to Wilson's community ties and volunteer service. Commissioner Schatzel moved approval; Commissioner Archuleta seconded; the commission approved the motion by voice vote.
Meeting minutes and the memorial application will be processed by staff following the approvals.
