Pike County acknowledges new hires, creates security positions and sets pay rates

The commission moved to create “two armed security guard positions in the sheriff's office for a 40-hour work week” and approved the motion by voice vote.
The board acknowledged receipt of a letter from Sheriff Beeney notifying the county of the hire of Anthony Gryse as an armed security guard effective April 7, 2025, with benefits to begin after 90 days. The commissioners later set Gryse's hourly rate at $20.
The commission also acknowledged a letter from Wardlow advising of hires at the correctional facility, with prison board approval, and approved full-time correctional officer appointments effective April 14, 2025. The newly hired correctional officers listed in the meeting are Travis Albertson, Pamela Bush, Timothy Krueger, Daniel Lodewicks, Gabriel Musselwhite, Brian Ragland, Michael Rammery, Matthew Ryle, Kobi Thomas, and Salvatore Zito. The board set the hourly rate for those correctional officers at $26.23.
The commission recessed as the salary board, approved the March 2025 salary ordinance, and reconvened the commissioners' meeting.
Actions were recorded by voice vote with “Aye” on each motion; no roll-call tallies were read into the record during the meeting.
