The Show Low City Council unanimously approved the purchase of eight city vehicles from Show Low Ford and authorized associated budget transfers to cover a budget shortfall.
Staff told the council the fiscal year 2025 budget included funds across four departments to replace or add eight vehicles (seven 3/4‑ton trucks and one 1‑ton truck), equipped to the city standard (service bodies, pipe racks, commercial snow plow systems, light bars and two‑way radios). Bid packets were distributed to four local dealers with a mandatory pre‑bid conference on Feb. 27, 2025; Show Low Ford submitted a bid on March 6, 2025.
Staff said rising vehicle prices caused the winning bid to exceed the budget by $22,975.56 and recommended transferring shortages from capital improvements lines in the respective department funds. Councilman Clark moved the award to Show Low Ford and highlighted the benefit of awarding the work to a local vendor; Councilman Judd seconded. The motion passed unanimously.
Council did not identify additional conditions or outside approvals; staff will proceed with procurement and the budget transfers noted in the motion.
