Porterville selects five downtown business representatives to advisory committee

The City Council on April 1 appointed five public members to the Downtown Porterville Committee, an advisory group established by Resolution No. 15‑2025. Eligible members must own a business located within the Downtown Porterville area or represent the Porterville Chamber of Commerce.
Appointees: Larissa Frye, David Horowitz, Katie Adams Puett, Robert Taylor and Sam Zens were appointed by council vote (4‑1). Two of the appointees indicated chamber affiliation; one applicant (Taha Salle) withdrew his application. The committee will include two council members as ex‑officio members and will advise council on downtown policies, goals and objectives.
Why it matters: The committee is intended to provide regular business‑community input to downtown planning and events; council staff will finalize membership paperwork and schedule the first advisory meeting.
