MPO board narrows state highway fund allocations; application and staffing budgets confirmed

Napoli said the board approved amounts allocated to the MPO project application process, staffing and reserves. She said changes from the prior draft reduced the portion proposed for the City of Bend street‑preservation application and redirected funds because updated finance estimates showed higher staff and reserve needs in later years.
Napoli cited approved figures of approximately $300,000 for the project application process, roughly $370,000 for staffing and about $115,000 for reserves in the referenced planning period. She said the board will consider at a subsequent meeting whether the remaining funds stay with street preservation or are directed to the neighborhood street safety program, a low‑stress network, or another program.
Napoli noted the earlier draft had shown a larger amount for street preservation (about $650,000), but updated finance and workload estimates required a revised distribution to ensure MPO staffing and consulting resources are available to manage upcoming planning projects.
