The Providence City Committee on Finance voted to continue two agenda items for further review: (1) an ordinance establishing a tax‑stabilization agreement for 1290 Westminster Street (ordinance chapter citation in the agenda) and (2) proposed amendments to the Capital Improvement Plan ordinance for fiscal years 2024–2028.
Committee members said some required updates or clarifications were outstanding for both items. Staff reported ongoing conversations with the project’s counsel on the tax-stabilization ordinance and said the proposed CIP language will be revisited in the administration’s forthcoming CIP submission.
Motions to continue each item carried by voice vote. Committee members recommended that the administration and sponsors reconvene with any interested councilors and stakeholders to refine draft language before the items return to committee.
