Cranston City planning commission appoints Beth Ashman as planning director

A subcommittee composed of the chair, Vice Chairman Coop and Commissioner Lamphere interviewed Ashman and made a positive recommendation to the full commission.
A motion to appoint Ashman was made from the chair and seconded by Commissioner Mancini; the commission voted in favor. Ashman thanked the commission and said she looked forward to working with staff and commissioners in her new role.
The appointment follows the city’s internal interim arrangement and a formal recruitment process, and brings the acting director into the permanent role without further public hearings or conditions recorded in the meeting.
