Council adopts FY26 assessments for Downtown Walnut Creek Business Improvement Districts

The city clerk reported no written protests had been received before the hearing.
Staff recommended the council adopt the resolutions setting the annual assessment rates with a 3 percent increase for FY26. On roll call, Councilmember Silva, Councilmember DeViney, Mayor Pro Tem Welt and Mayor Mary Darling all voted aye and the council adopted both resolutions.
Why it matters: The adopted assessments fund the BID programs in downtown areas and the process included the statutorily required public hearing and an opportunity for protests; staff found no majority protest.
Ending: With the resolutions adopted and no protests filed, the city will levy the FY26 assessments as approved by the council.
