Bart, a town staff member, told the council the resolution “justifies” a prohibition by referencing the county’s hazard determinations and said the fire chief supported the step as limiting town liability and improving enforcement.
Greg Henrigan noted the town already has a standing prohibition in its code but said this resolution provides an additional, contemporaneous determination to support enforcement. Council members said adopting the resolution helps the sheriff or fire officials respond when conditions warrant and that the resolution will need periodic renewal or re-adoption tied to county determinations.
