The Garland City Council took the following formal actions during its April 1, 2025 regular meeting.
- Consent agenda: Council approved the consent agenda items by a single motion and vote. The consent agenda included approval of the March 18, 2025 minutes; multiple GP&L transmission line engineering and construction bids; an FY24–25 annual operating budget amendment (Amendment No. 1); and a grant disbursement agreement with the Garland Housing Finance Corporation. Council member Ott moved to approve the consent agenda; Mayor Pro Tem Moore seconded and the measure passed unanimously.
- Postponement: The council granted the applicant’s request to postpone item 6A (Prime Data Center in District 7) to the May 6 meeting. Councilmember Hedrick moved to postpone and the motion passed unanimously.
- Zoning (6c — Bobtown Enterprises / 429 & 455 E. I-30): Council approved a zoning change to Neighborhood Services (NS) for an existing retail center. Staff noted the site is 3.792 acres and that plan commission recommended approval. The council approved the NS rezoning unanimously.
- Appointment: Council confirmed Kathleen Gardner to the Senior Citizen Advisory Commission following a nomination by Councilmember Hedrick and a second by Councilmember Dutton; the nomination was approved unanimously.
