Fulshear council backs North Fort Bend water conservation program and appoints committee members

Council approved Resolution No. 2025‑657 supporting Fulshear’s participation in the North Fort Bend Water Authority (NFBWA) 2025 water conservation program and created a local water conservation committee to meet the program’s requirements.
Staff noted the city previously met program requirements and expected refunds from NFBWA for months in which conservation targets were met. Staff said the committee needs to meet at least once and to document the meeting with an agenda for NFBWA compliance.
Council nominated and approved the committee members: Council Member Utakar, Council Member Barron and Council Member Powers, with community volunteer Randy Connor named as community liaison (subject to election outcome for Mr. Connor). Council and staff said the committee’s workload is light; staff reported the city had met program requirements last year and anticipated modest refunds for months with documented compliance.
The resolution and committee selection were adopted on motion and voice vote; staff will coordinate meeting logistics and report to NFBWA as required.
