County staff outlines bond transportation program and multiple road, bridge and facilities projects

Clay County capital projects staff updated the Planning Commission on numerous road and facility projects funded through a bond transportation program and FDOT projects, including County Road 218 connector, County Road 220 improvements, Cathedral Oak Parkway segments, resurfacing, and several new public facilities.
Ed Dendoor, bond transportation program administrator and capital projects director, briefed the Planning Commission on the county's capital projects and the five-year bond transportation program that began in 2020.
Dendoor said the program was originally supported by $129 million in bonding and has grown to roughly $180 million overall to fund road construction, utility relocations, sidewalks, stormwater ponds and bike lanes. "Working on that so far to date, we've put in well over 450,000 man hours and we've paid out over $110,000,000 so far," he said.
