Committee advances clerks’ technical-cleanup bill to modernize notice and consolidate school candidate deadlines

The bill also consolidates the two closely spaced school board candidate deadlines into a single deadline so school board candidate certifications are submitted with other candidates. French said the change eliminates redundant deadlines and modernizes the notice method. No members of the public rose to speak for or against the bill during the hearing.
The committee took a motion and a second to advance the bill. The motion carried on an oral voice vote; individual roll-call tallies were not specified in the transcript. Chair Quam acknowledged the vote as passed and the committee moved on to other business.
