Bonner County approves submission of grant application for revised Noxious Weeds handbook

Bonner County commissioners voted to authorize the submission of a grant application to the Idaho Fish and Wildlife Foundation to fund printing of a revised Selkirk Cooperative Weed Management Area Noxious Weeds Handbook.
Chase Youngdahl, Bonner County Noxious Weeds Director, told the board the proposed grant does not require matching funds but that matching points are preferred; he listed a proposed $1,000 Bonner County cash match as pending because the project would occur in FY26 and the county would consider match through the budget process if the award is made. "This is just sending the application," Youngdahl said; the board voted to authorize the chair to sign administratively should the county choose to accept an award.
The motion approved sending the application with the $1,000 county match listed as pending. Commissioners voted by roll call with all present voting yes. If awarded, staff indicated the project would be carried out in the next fiscal year and county budget workshops would be the venue to finalize any committed match funding.
