Indiana University seeks funding for IU Lab life‑sciences hub, modest operating adjustments and capital renovations

On capital, IU identified a Phase 2 science building renovation (biology) at Bloomington — a $96 million request to modernize a building from 1955 — and encouraged continued investment in facilities repair and renovation across campuses. Committee members asked about public safety funding, Fort Wayne medical school expansion, and the IU–IU Health funds‑flow agreement; Whitten said the university is pursuing regional medical‑education opportunities and would share details of the IU–IU Health agreement with legislators on request.
