The proposed demolition-code revisions set three objective triggers for an expanded review by a preservationist: when the primary structure is more than 50 years old, when the parcel appears on the village AROD listing, or when the structure touches the Transportation Corridor Overlay District (TCOD). The revisions also create an expedited path for demolitions that do not meet any trigger: those applications would be heard only by the Planning Commission rather than by council, a change staff said could shorten some timelines from the current low end of about 11 weeks to roughly a month depending on meeting schedules.
