Wabasha County introduces incoming veteran services officer as current officer plans June retirement

Wabasha County staff told commissioners that Veteran Services Officer Tracy Krause will retire in June and introduced Bill Kerr as the incoming veteran services officer in training.
County staff said Krause’s retirement is expected in June and that the county went through a qualified hiring process. Bill Kerr, who lives in Plainview and served nearly 21 years on active duty in the U.S. Air Force, introduced himself to the board and said he has been shadowing Krause to learn the position’s duties. Kerr said he moved back to Plainview about two and a half years ago after retiring, is a part-time school bus driver and boys' soccer coach in Plainview, and that he is ‘‘honored to be able to give back a little bit and to help our veterans in our Wabasha County.’’
