Board approves minutes, equipment surplus, proclamation and schedules April workshop

Minutes: The board approved the minutes of the Feb. 27, 2025 meeting. The motion was made by Miss Dasher and seconded by Mr. Smith; the motion passed by voice vote.
Surplus equipment and vehicle (Agenda 9.01): The board approved removing 17 pieces of old cafeteria equipment and one utility van from inventory and warehouse storage for disposition via GovDeals.com. The motion was made by Miss Cornell and seconded by Mr. Smith. Board discussion described GovDeals as an online auction service that photographs items, lists them and provides proceeds to the district; the motion passed.
Proclamation (Agenda 10.01): The board approved a proclamation supporting observance of April 2025 as Child Abuse Prevention Month in Florida. The motion was made by Miss Dasher, seconded by Miss Cornell and passed by voice vote. Heartland for Children gave a presentation after the proclamation (see separate article).
Consent agenda: The board approved the consent agenda by voice vote after a motion and second; no roll-call tally was provided in the transcript.
Workshop scheduling: The board approved a workshop at 4:00 p.m. before the April 10 board meeting to discuss elementary schools, including Bowling Green and Hilltop. The motion to schedule the workshop was made by Miss Cornell, seconded by Miss Dasher, and passed.
