Mandy, program manager with Hamilton Center, presented the agency's 2024 report for Vermillion County during the public comment portion of the Feb. 28 meeting.
"For Vermillion County, we served a total of 542 consumers," Mandy said. She gave the age breakdown: 187 were ages 0–17, 342 were 18–64, and 13 were 65 or older. Mandy said 493 of the 542 consumers — roughly 91% — were at or below 200% of the federal poverty level.
Mandy described service types and counts: 198 adults and six youth received only addiction services; 207 adults and 184 youth received only mental-health treatment; and 147 consumers received both mental-health and addiction services. She said Vermillion County used approximately 181 inpatient days and provided 15,326 outpatient services, which include individual and group therapy, assessments, case management and skills training. Hamilton Center paid $818,769 in salaries and benefits and $365,447 in expenses; total expenses for Vermillion County were $1,433,996 for 2024.
The presentation listed $36,879 in charity care provided and $186,090 in county support, which Mandy said is "based off of the Indiana code, and that's 12-29-2-2." She said Hamilton Center employs 35 Vermillion County residents and cited top referral sources as schools, the Department of Child Services, family self-referral, hospitals/physicians and law enforcement/probation.
There was no public discussion or board action recorded on the Hamilton Center presentation during the meeting.
