Commissioners adopt Vermillion County 2025 ADA transition and Title VI implementation plans

The Vermillion County Board of Commissioners voted to approve two federal compliance plans on Feb. 28: the Americans with Disabilities Act transition plan for 2025 and the Title VI implementation plan for 2025.
"We have two things in front of you. One is the Americans with Disability Act transition plan, and the other is a Title 6 implementation plan. They're both due. These are federal requirements," said Mark O'Hare, who presented the documents for signature. O'Hare said the county had not received complaints and that only dates and objectives were updated.
Commissioner Misty Hess moved to approve both documents together; the motion was seconded by Bill Peebles and carried unanimously. O'Hare told the board he would provide clean copies for signatures at the end of the meeting.
County staff noted that many major grants depend on these plans being current; commissioners instructed staff to sign the documents and ensure they remain available in county files.
