During the March 25 meeting the board announced the St. Joseph County Auditor's Office had been awarded the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) distinguished budget presentation award for the county's 2025 budget.
Commissioners said the award is the highest form of recognition in government budgeting and placed St. Joseph County among five local governments in Indiana to receive the distinction. County officials thanked staff members John, Abby and Katie for their work on the budget book and noted the award can help the county with bond ratings.
Commissioners praised the auditor's office and recorded no formal action beyond the announcement.
