“We still have time,” a board member said, and Scholtes noted, “I know the main procurement requirements are in the state code,” saying she would forward the inquiry to an engineer in the Vernal office and try a Richfield engineer if needed. Board members said they expect to use the engineer’s specifications to measure proposed sidewalk locations and then post the bid at a future meeting.
Board members discussed procurement logistics: one speaker said they believed the town must obtain at least two bids. A follow-up direction from the meeting was for staff to wait for the engineer’s written guidance, then measure sidewalk locations at the next meeting and prepare bid documents based on the engineer’s specifications.
