When the commission opened the item, a representative identified as Kelli confirmed she was representing the applicant. The Chair said the application was being considered but staff had concerns about the timing of public-notification letters: "We're we're just considering this this month, pending your letters getting out and timing up for people to respond. Okay. It's supposed to be out 10 days before the meeting and I think that you guys were late enough that that didn't drop it down," the Chair said.
Commissioners discussed operational conditions should the permit be granted. A staff or commissioner speaker described the town's general noise ordinance as 10 p.m. to 7 a.m. but recommended a stricter condition for this commercial operation: "But for something like this, I'm gonna recommend 7 to 7," indicating that loud mechanical work should be limited to daytime hours. The commission also agreed during discussion that the applicant must not use on-street parking because the road is too narrow.
No motion to approve or deny was recorded in the public meeting minutes for this item; commissioners noted they would continue review after allowing time for required notices and for any missing application materials to be provided. "Unless somebody else can think of any more, those will be the conditions. Yeah. That sounds good. Other than that, I don't foresee any issues with it," the Chair said as discussion closed.
Staff indicated they would follow up with the applicant and review outstanding materials and notification timing before scheduling a final decision or recommendation at a subsequent meeting.
