Public‑works staff reported that construction work at the city’s water treatment plant has begun and that contractors have started on electrical and SCADA upgrades. Staff said materials have been delivered to the site and that excavation will proceed as weather allows.
Jordan (public works/engineering) said a large tank (referred to in the meeting as the formula‑gallon tank) returned review comments from the Division of Drinking Water and that staff expects the bid package to be reissued with responses to those comments; Sunrise (the contractor/consultant) anticipates reissuing bids with Division comments incorporated and staff anticipates receiving bids back around mid‑April.
Staff warned that construction at the treatment plant and access points near Green Canyon may prompt temporary road closures or traffic interruptions during work windows and said they will try to maintain access. No contract award or construction schedule was finalized during the meeting; staff said they will coordinate with contractors on traffic control and provide updates as bids are returned and contracts finalized.
