Scott, the township engineer, told the board that "all the plans and specifications for Myers County Road are ready to go," and recommended the township hire geotechnical services for compaction testing. The board approved an estimate from Triad Engineering for $3,065 to perform the compaction testing and later voted to advertise the project for bids. Supervisors also approved purchasing the culvert structure directly from the manufacturer for $91,200 to avoid contractor markup.
Board discussion noted prior experience seeking county funding for similar projects and uncertainty about future county aid; the engineer said the township would only know about county funding after the next application cycle in the spring. The board authorized the engineer to publish the bid advertisement and to schedule compaction tests before construction.
The board recorded the motions as voice votes; the purchase, the geotechnical engagement and the bid advertisement were all approved.
The board directed township staff and the engineer to return with bid schedules, geotechnical reports and vendor delivery plans before construction begins.
