Clermont County commissioners approve bridge inspection agreement, vehicle-tracking service orders and SEBCO designees

At its March 10, 2025 meeting the Clermont County Board of Commissioners approved a federal bridge inspection agreement, authorized vehicle-tracking service orders for county trucks, designated voting delegates for the County Employee Benefit Consortium of Ohio and conducted an executive session with no actions reported.
The Clermont County Board of Commissioners on March 10 approved three noncontroversial items: a resolution authorizing a local public authority agreement with the state for a bridge load-rating project, an authorization to execute recurring service order forms with Verizon Connect for vehicle tracking, and the designation of the county’s voting delegate and alternate for the County Employee Benefit Consortium of Ohio (SEBCO). The board also approved routine minutes and the consent agenda and entered an executive session under Ohio law, after which it reported no actions taken.
The most costly item was adoption of Resolution 21-25, which authorizes County Engineer Jeremy P. Evans to execute agreement number 42197 with the state. Evans told the board the funds “are federal funds from the Federal Highway Administration relative to the LPA bridge load rating project.” The estimated total project cost is $61,559, with an 80% federal share and a 20% county share funded from motor vehicle, bridge and gas (MB&G) funds.
The board approved a standing authorization for the county engineer’s office to execute service order forms with Verizon Connect for vehicle tracking, driver identification and 30-second location plotting on county vehicles the engineer determines necessary. County staff said the initial subscription term is 12 months from each subscription start date with automatic monthly renewals until written notice of termination; the subscriptions will be paid from the motor vehicle and gas tax fund. Staff noted the county already uses tracking on some dump trucks and will add devices to newer trucks as vehicles are replaced.
Commissioners also designated Sandra Tahat as the county’s voting designee and Teresa Igoe as the alternate for the 2025 SEBCO annual membership meeting.
The board moved into executive session under Ohio Revised Code section 121.22(g)(1), (g)(4) and (g)(6) — to consider employment/compensation matters, collective bargaining preparation/negotiation and security arrangements — then returned to open session and said no decisions were made during the executive session.
All items on the regular and consent agendas were approved by roll call votes of the three commissioners present: Commissioner Bachelor, Commissioner Corcoran and Commissioner Painter.
Minutes approved: the board approved the minutes of the March 5, 2025 regular session. The consent agenda was approved as submitted.
