The Evansville Land Bank Corporation denied multiple individual lot applications and kept several other applications on the table during the March 21 meeting.
An application for 1007 Harriet Street (single-lot application) was denied because the parcel is a double lot; a board member moved to deny and the motion carried on a voice vote. Shortly afterward the board approved a separate combined application from Habitat for Humanity for 1007 and 1009 Harriet (see separate article on Habitat sales).
The board also denied an application for 109 Madison Avenue. Applicant Mr. Locke attended and said he intended to use the 40-foot-wide, 135-foot-deep lot as a private green space and dog run because he lives nearby. Board members explained the parcel had previously been held in anticipation of future residential development at the adjacent 107 Madison and voted to deny Locke's application to preserve the lot for possible future housing.
Several applications remain tabled: 416, 418โ420 South Evans and 518 South Grant. The board noted those applications continue to be tabled and no action was taken at this meeting.
