Roads and traffic access standards: The board also reviewed a staff-redlined update to section 11, which reflects technical updates to road construction details and pavement sections. Planning staff explained that Public Works Director John Cameron had requested updates to bring the city's road-construction tables and material-depth standards into alignment with current practice (changes included aggregate depths, geotextile specification and similar technical clarifications). The board made a minor editorial insertion to clarify a sentence about turnaround design and unanimously recommended the updates be forwarded to City Hall for adoption.
Both matters received no public opposition during the hearings. The board recorded motions to send the sidewalk-code amendment and the roads/traffic standard revisions to the ordinance-review/city-code process and voted to recommend adoption.
The amendments will move through the City Council/ordinance-review pipeline for final action.
