Residents urge caution on Willow Street PUD; concerns about water, traffic and lighting

Jaden Sadler, 235 South Willow Street, said increased lighting and more vehicles would make it harder to preserve the area’s rural character and called the scale of the proposal inconsistent with neighborhood expectations. Another resident at 118 Willow Street urged that the street be improved before any further development and asked that an existing sign limiting construction traffic be removed if no longer applicable.
The commission received four written comments in advance and closed the public hearing after hearing the in‑person speakers and confirming there were no Zoom comments. Planning staff did not present a final recommendation during the public comments; no vote or decision on the PUD was recorded in the meeting transcript segment for the hearing. The comments will be part of the official record for the PUD application as the commission and staff continue their review.
Speakers asked the commission to ensure water and sewer availability, stormwater and sidewalk safety are addressed before additional units are permitted.
