Bluff council approves leases and storage agreement, creates two intern positions and transfers $20,000 from PTIF to checking

At its March 18 meeting the Bluff Town Council approved a series of administrative and financial items including lease addendums, a storage agreement, internship postings and a transfer of town funds.
The council approved a two‑year addendum to the Bluff Community Foundation’s lease for the Cooperative Cultural Center (CCC) and also approved a retroactive addendum to the food pantry lease. Both addenda keep existing lease terms in place for the near term, with council members noting the leases can be adjusted if building construction or other needs require relocation.
The council voted to approve a storage agreement with Jim and Luann Hook for town-owned solar panels stored on private property; the agreement carries no rental fee but sets insurance and liability terms and gives either party 30 days’ written notice to terminate. The vote on the storage agreement was recorded as four ayes and one abstention.
Council members approved posting two temporary internship positions — a technical project support intern and a community engagement/communications intern — at $16 per hour with flexible hours for spring and summer work. Staff said postings would be placed on the town website, in the San Juan Record and at local colleges and high schools, with a proposed application deadline of April 15, 2025.
On finance, council members approved the accounts-payable list and authorized a transfer of $20,000 from PTIF savings to the town’s Zions checking account to cover near-term obligations and a $5,000 GOEO grant retainer. The transfer was approved by voice vote.
Taken together, these approvals move forward several operational and administrative matters the town manager said were needed for ongoing operations and upcoming projects.
