Board approves roster of architects, geotechnical and engineering firms for district projects

At the March 31 working session the Washington County School District Board approved a group of architecture, geotechnical and engineering firms for future district projects following a statement-of-interest and qualifications process.
Staff summarized the scoring: for architecture the top two firms were Naylor Wentworth Lund Architects and VCBO Architects and the board approved both firms for use. For geotechnical services staff recommended (and the board approved) three firms: AGEC (top score), GES Geotechnical and Landmark. For engineering services the board approved Alpha Engineering, Skye (approved for small jobs) and added Jones & DeMille to the roster so the district can rotate among them by project size and capacity.
Staff said the roster approach lets the district select a firm suited to each project's size and timeline. The board asked staff to favor local firms when feasible and to monitor responsiveness and performance as projects proceed.
