Community planning staff told the council that the Historic Commission is scheduled to hear a post-construction application for a historic rehabilitation tax credit (TC 23‑02) for 160 West Main Street.
The application would cover repairs to the carriage house and the chimney and roof of the main house, staff said. The proposed work is in conjunction with an approved conversion and special-exception use that would allow two dwelling units at the property.
Staff also reported the Historic District Commission has already awarded $150,000 in façade improvement grant funds for fiscal year 2025 and that HDC is continuing discussion about its implementation plan for the city’s 250th preparations.
No final action on the tax-credit application was taken by the common council at the meeting; the matter was described as scheduled for the Historic Commission’s upcoming hearing.
