Council continues Uplands preliminary development plan to April 14

The Westminster City Council voted 5-0 Monday to continue the public hearing on the Uplands preliminary development plan amendment to its April 14 meeting so the applicant can receive full council consideration.
Planning Manager John McConnell told the council, “This evening we had a request from the Uplands applicant to respectfully request that their case be continued to the April 14 meeting, so that they may get the full council's consideration of their application.” That request prompted a motion to postpone the hearing.
Councilor Carmelia moved to postpone the item to April 14; Councilor Ireland seconded the motion. Mayor Nancy McNally then called a roll-call vote. Councilors Carmelia, Rosati, Haft, Ireland and Mayor McNally voted yes; the motion passed on a five-zero vote. The council chair then closed the public hearing for the moment.
There was no substantive debate recorded on the council floor during the motion; staff said the continuance was at the applicant's request to allow full council review. The council did not take additional action on the development plan at Monday's meeting.
The continuance means the Uplands amendment will return for formal consideration and any public testimony at the April 14 council meeting.
