Commission approves first reading to amend business license rules on liquor inspections

Finance Director Pauline Carey said the change is largely administrative, intended to remove a local electrical-inspection requirement after consulting the state and the city attorney. Carey said, "the state does not require the electrical. We have nothing to do with the electrical inspections," and that the attorney reviewed and agreed with the change. The commission set second reading for April 7, 2025 and voted to approve first reading by roll call.
Carey described the changes as to bring licensing language up to date for staff and to reflect transfer and renewal activity currently under review by the finance office.
