The Huron City Commission approved its consent agenda, accepting routine items including minutes from the March 24, 2025 meeting and authorization of a special on-off alcoholic beverage license for Top Floor Events for a chamber mixer on May 13, 2025 at HRMC, 172 Fourth Street Southeast.
The commission’s consent package also included fuel quotes for city departments; a 30-day extension of a management agreement for an event center (described in the minutes as a management extension for the “here and event center”); seasonal hires for Broadland Pro Shop and parks and recreation maintenance; and payment of the city’s bills. The commission recorded approval of the consent agenda by roll call vote.
The consent agenda confirmed several personnel status changes effective March 23, 2025: the full-time status of Patrol Sergeant Cole Long following completion of a 45-calendar-day probationary period; full-time status of Police Officer Cody Maxwell after transfer and probation completion; and full-time status of Detective Sergeant Andrea Rietveldt after transfer and completion of a 45-calendar-day probationary period.
The commission treated the items as noncontroversial and voted on them as a single block. No member requested removal of any item for separate discussion during the meeting.
