Council approves variances for cottage-court replat at 815 N. Kentucky

Kate Strickland, planning manager, described the request as variances to lot frontage and lot-shape standards for an irregular lot configuration. She told the council staff supported the requested variances to accommodate the cottage-court product and said the variances would not change the previously approved zoning, unit sizes or total number of units for the site.
A nearby resident, Sayers Dudley of 916 Moore Church, asked whether the cleared site's lot sizes or unit counts would change because of the requested variances. Strickland and another staff member responded that the variances affect lot shape and frontage and do not alter the size or number of units previously approved.
Following a public hearing with one speaker, a council member moved to close the public hearing and approve the requested variances; the motion passed.
