They never ever cease to amaze me with their accomplishments and, I know it is it's it is our mission to educate, empower, and inspire students." She added that she looks forward to working with the board and district staff "to fulfill our mission and to fulfill our vision. They are, they are the future of this community, and so we are really investing. The work that we do here is an investment in the Dover community."
Two members of the public spoke in a later public comment period to congratulate Halk. Doug McGurn said he and "many others" consider Dr. Halk the most qualified candidate and urged the board to rely on her and her administrative team. Katrina Rothrock of Pleasant View Drive spoke on her own behalf and said she looked forward to "the continued consistency and excellence" Halk brings to the district.
