Commissioners review modest funding requests and adopt capital asset policy

Klamath County commissioners on March 26 reviewed three small funding requests from community programs and adopted a draft capital asset policy prepared by county finance staff.

Staff said the amount matches prior years and that the proposed county budget includes the same $15,000. "They initially wanted to come in with a larger request, and then they were mindful of what we were talking about in the budget process," a commissioner said of the group's request.
The board also considered a request for $2,500 to support Badger Venture, a program run with Klamath Community College similar to Catalyze Klamath. Commissioners said they generally support both requests but asked to review the materials and did not vote on either program funding that day.
On the capital asset policy, the finance director presented a draft administrative policy governing capital assets and said departments had been given time to review it with no comments returned. A commissioner moved to adopt the capital asset policy prepared by the finance director; the board approved the policy by voice vote.
