Klamath County commissioners voted on March 26 to authorize the solid waste and parks manager to apply for the Oregon State Marine Board Maintenance Assistance Grant (MAG) for fiscal year 25-26 and 26-27.
The motion, presented at the start of the meeting, directed the county to allow its solid waste/parks manager to submit and sign the MAG application documents. "I will move that the board approve and authorize the solid waste parks manager to apply for and sign the application documents to the Oregon State Marine Board maintenance assistance grant, otherwise known as MAG, for fiscal year 2526 and 2627," a commissioner said when moving the item.
The nut graf: The MAG application covers maintenance assistance for marine facilities; at this meeting the board approved only the application authority and did not adopt additional funding commitments or program details.
There were no substantive questions from the board before the voice vote. The chair voted aye and the motion passed by voice vote.
Ending: The authorization permits staff to proceed with the MAG application; further details about award amounts, project scope or matching requirements were not discussed during the meeting.
