School committee approves multiple policy updates and a deletion amid routine review

The committee also approved final language for student travel regulations (JJH-R) with a narrow deletion: committee members asked administrators to remove a sentence referencing fundraising authority from the travel policy to ensure fundraising oversight remains in the fundraising policy.
The committee also voted to delete JRA-R (student records regulation) because it restated existing regulations and was redundant with established student-records policy.
Several members of the policy subcommittee and Director Perez (policy support) participated in the discussion and confirmed that concussion policy revisions and a legal review remain pending and will return to the subcommittee when complete.
Votes were unanimous on the items presented. The committee moved the approved policies into the active manual and moved JRA-R to the deleted policies section.
Ending: Administrators will finalize the manual with the approved edits and bring remaining policies (including concussion-related text that went to legal) back to the subcommittee for further review.
